Reprogram Liftmaster Garage Door Keypad

Liftmaster garage door keypads provide a convenient way to open and close your garage door without using a remote control or key. However, if you need to change the access code or reset the keypad, you will need to reprogram it.

Here are the steps on how to reprogram a Liftmaster garage door keypad:

1. Gather your materials.

You will need the following materials to reprogram your Liftmaster garage door keypad:

A ladder
A screwdriver

2. Remove the keypad from the wall.

Use a screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the keypad to the wall. Carefully pull the keypad away from the wall, being careful not to damage the wires.

3. Locate the programming button.

The programming button is usually located on the back of the keypad. It is a small, black button that is labeled "Prog" or "Program.

4. Press and hold the programming button.

Use a pen or pencil to press and hold the programming button for 5 seconds. The LED on the keypad will begin to flash.

5. Enter the new access code.

Use the keypad to enter the new 4-digit access code. The LED on the keypad will stop flashing when the code is entered correctly.

6. Press the "Enter" button.

Press the "Enter" button on the keypad to save the new access code.

7. Reinstall the keypad.

Carefully align the keypad with the holes on the wall and insert the screws. Tighten the screws until the keypad is secure.

8. Test the new access code.

Use the new access code to open and close the garage door. If the door opens and closes correctly, the reprogramming was successful.

Tips

If you forget the new access code, you can reset the keypad to its factory settings. To do this, press and hold the programming button for 10 seconds.
