Myq Garage Door Sensor Battery

MyQ garage door sensors are battery-operated devices that detect when your garage door is open or closed. They are an important part of your MyQ system, as they allow you to remotely monitor and control your garage door from your smartphone or tablet.

The battery in your MyQ garage door sensor will typically last for about two years. However, there are a few things that can affect the battery life, such as the frequency of use, the temperature, and the age of the battery.

If you find that your MyQ garage door sensor battery is dying frequently, there are a few things you can do to troubleshoot the problem:

  1. Check the battery connections. Make sure that the battery is properly connected to the sensor. If the connections are loose, the sensor may not be able to get enough power to operate properly.
  2. Check the temperature. MyQ garage door sensors are designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures, but extreme temperatures can shorten the battery life. If the sensor is exposed to very cold or very hot temperatures, it may need to be replaced more frequently.
  3. Check the age of the battery. Batteries eventually lose their capacity to hold a charge over time. If the battery in your MyQ garage door sensor is old, it may need to be replaced.

If you have tried all of the troubleshooting steps above and your MyQ garage door sensor battery is still dying frequently, you may need to contact Chamberlain Customer Support for assistance.

How to replace the battery in your MyQ garage door sensor

Replacing the battery in your MyQ garage door sensor is a quick and easy process. Here are the steps:

  1. Remove the sensor from the garage door. The sensor is held in place by two screws. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws and then lift the sensor off of the door.
  2. Open the battery compartment. The battery compartment is located on the back of the sensor. Use a screwdriver to remove the screw that holds the battery compartment door in place. Then, lift the door off of the sensor.
  3. Replace the battery. The battery is a CR2032 coin cell battery. Remove the old battery and insert the new battery into the compartment. Make sure that the positive (+) terminal of the battery is facing up.
  4. Close the battery compartment. Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the screw to hold it in place.
  5. Reattach the sensor to the garage door. Align the sensor with the holes in the door and then tighten the screws to hold it in place.

Once you have replaced the battery, your MyQ garage door sensor should be working properly again.
