Linear Garage Door Opener Program Remote
Programming a Linear garage door opener remote is a straightforward process that can be completed in a few simple steps. By following these instructions, you can quickly and easily add a new remote to your garage door system.
Step 1: Gather Materials
Before you begin, you will need to gather the following materials:
- Linear garage door opener
- New Linear garage door opener remote
- Phillips head screwdriver (optional)
Step 2: Safety First
Before programming the remote, it is important to take safety precautions to prevent unintentional garage door operation.
- Unplug the garage door opener from the power outlet.
- Disconnect the battery backup (if applicable).
Step 3: Locate the Learn Button
The Learn button is typically located on the back of the garage door opener motor unit. It may be covered by a small plastic cap.
Step 4: Open the Battery Compartment
Locate the battery compartment on the back of the new remote. Use a Phillips head screwdriver (if necessary) to open the compartment.
Step 5: Insert the Battery
Insert the 9-volt battery into the compartment, observing the correct polarity. Close the battery compartment securely.
Step 6: Press and Hold the Learn Button
Press and hold the Learn button on the garage door opener for about 3 seconds. The LED indicator light on the opener will start to flash.
Step 7: Press the Remote Button
Within 30 seconds, press and hold the desired button on the new remote. Hold the button down until the LED indicator light on the opener stops flashing and stays illuminated.
Step 8: Repeat for Additional Remotes
If you have additional Linear garage door opener remotes to program, follow the same steps for each remote.
Step 9: Test the Remote
Once all remotes have been programmed, plug the garage door opener back into the power outlet and reconnect the battery backup (if applicable).
Press the button on the new remote to test its functionality. The garage door should open and close smoothly.
Step 10: Reprogramming (Optional)
If you need to reprogram the remotes, simply press and hold the Learn button on the garage door opener for about 6 seconds. The LED indicator light will start to flash rapidly.
Press and hold the desired button on each remote until the LED indicator light stops flashing and stays illuminated. This will erase all existing remote codes and reprogram the remotes with the new codes.
