Insert the batteries into the keypad, ensuring the positive and negative terminals are aligned correctly. ### Step 3: Access the Garage Door Opener's Learn Button Use a ladder to reach the motor unit of your garage door opener, which is typically mounted to the ceiling. Locate the "LEARN" button, which is usually a small, round, yellow or purple button. ### Step 4: Enter Programming Mode Press and hold the "LEARN" button on the motor unit for 3-5 seconds, or until the LED light on the opener begins flashing. This indicates that the opener is ready to receive new programming. ### Step 5: Connect the Keypad to the Motor Unit Press the "P" button on the keypad. The LED light on the keypad should start blinking rapidly. Bring the keypad close to the motor unit and press the "UP" button on the keypad. The LED light on the motor unit should stop flashing and turn solid, indicating that the keypad is successfully connected. ### Step 6: Set the User Code Enter your desired user code by pressing the number buttons on the keypad. The user code can be between 4 and 8 digits long. After entering the code, press the "ENTER" button. The LED light on the motor unit will flash rapidly again. ### Step 7: Repeat for Additional User Codes If you want to program additional user codes, repeat steps 6 and 7 for each user. The motor unit can store up to 10 different user codes. ### Step 8: Close the Keypad Case Once you have programmed all the user codes, replace the battery cover on the keypad and secure it in place. ### Step 9: Test the Keypad Step away from the garage door and press the "UP" or "DOWN" buttons on the keypad. The garage door should open or close. If it does not, check all your connections and reprogram the keypad if necessary.
