Genie Garage Door Opener Reset

If your Genie garage door opener is not working properly, you may need to reset it. Resetting the opener will erase all of the programmed settings, including the remote controls and keypad codes. Before you reset the opener, make sure that the problem is not with the remote control or keypad. If the remote control or keypad is not working, try replacing the batteries. If that does not work, then you may need to reset the opener.

To reset the Genie garage door opener, follow these steps:

Unplug the opener from the power outlet.
Wait 30 seconds.
Plug the opener back into the power outlet.
Press and hold the "Program" button on the opener until the LED light starts to flash.
Release the "Program" button.
Press the "Up" button on the remote control.
The LED light will stop flashing and the opener will beep.
The opener is now reset.

If you have multiple remote controls or keypads, you will need to reprogram them after resetting the opener. To reprogram a remote control, follow these steps:

Press and hold the "Program" button on the opener until the LED light starts to flash.
Release the "Program" button.
Press the button on the remote control that you want to program.
The LED light will stop flashing and the opener will beep.
The remote control is now programmed.

To reprogram a keypad, follow these steps:

Press and hold the "Program" button on the opener until the LED light starts to flash.
Release the "Program" button.
Enter the new four-digit code on the keypad.
The LED light will stop flashing and the opener will beep.
The keypad is now programmed.
