Garage Door Only Opens Halfway

A garage door that only opens halfway can be a major inconvenience. It can make it difficult to get your car in and out of the garage, and it can also be a security risk. If your garage door is only opening halfway, there are a few things you can do to troubleshoot the problem.

5. Check the tracks. The garage door opener has two tracks that guide the door as it opens and closes. If one of the tracks is bent or damaged, it can cause the door to only open halfway. To check the tracks, open the garage door manually and then look at the tracks. The tracks should be straight and there should be no bends or damage in the tracks.

If one of the tracks is bent or damaged, you will need to replace it. To replace a track, remove the screws that hold it in place and then disconnect the track from the garage door opener. Connect the new track to the garage door opener and then screw the new track into place.
