Start by gathering the necessary materials:

Automatic garage door opener kit (including motor, remote controls, sensors)

Garage door brackets

Step 1: Prepare the Garage Door

Ensure your garage door is balanced and free of any obstructions. Adjust the tension springs if they become loose or too tight. Mark the center of the door with a level and a pencil, both horizontally and vertically.

Step 2: Install the Garage Door Brackets

Attach the garage door brackets to the ceiling directly above the center of the door. Use the provided screws and ensure the brackets are level and securely fastened. If using overhead brackets, you may need to use extension cords or a stepladder to reach.

Step 3: Mount the Motor Unit

Hang the motor unit on the garage door brackets. Use the bolts provided in the kit to secure it in place. The motor should be positioned slightly above the door, allowing for easy clearance.

Attach the drive unit to the motor unit by inserting it into the slots provided. Tighten the bolts to secure it in place. The drive unit should extend to the center of the garage door.

Connect the transmitter to the motor unit using the wires provided. Position the transmitter bracket on a wall near the garage door entrance and secure it with screws. Mount the transmitter onto the bracket.

Step 6: Attach the Sensors

Install the sensors on both sides of the garage door opening, facing each other. The sensors should be low enough to detect any objects passing through the doorway but not low enough to be easily damaged by vehicles.

Step 7: Program the Remote Controls

Follow the instructions provided with the remote controls to program them with the opener's frequency. This typically involves pressing a button on the opener and then pressing a button on the remote.

Step 8: Test the Opener
