Garage Door Not Closing Light Flashing
If your garage door won't close and the light is flashing, there are a few possible causes. The most common cause is a problem with the safety sensors. These sensors are located on either side of the garage door opening and they use infrared beams to detect if anything is in the way of the door. If the sensors are blocked or misaligned, the door will not close. To check the sensors, first make sure that there is nothing blocking them. If there is nothing blocking the sensors, then you can try realigning them. To do this, loosen the screws that hold the sensors in place and then move the sensors until the infrared beams are aligned. Once the sensors are aligned, tighten the screws and test the door to see if it closes properly.
If the safety sensors are not the problem, then the next thing to check is the door's limit switches. These switches are located on the sides of the door and they tell the door when to stop opening and closing. If the limit switches are out of adjustment, the door may not close properly. To adjust the limit switches, first open the door all the way. Then, locate the limit switches on the sides of the door. There will be two screws on each limit switch. Loosen the screws and then move the limit switch until the door stops opening or closing at the desired point. Once the limit switches are adjusted, tighten the screws and test the door to see if it closes properly.
If the safety sensors and the limit switches are not the problem, then the next thing to check is the garage door opener. The opener is the motor that powers the door. If the opener is not working properly, the door will not close. To check the opener, first make sure that it is plugged in and that the power switch is turned on. If the opener is plugged in and the power switch is turned on, then you can try resetting the opener. To do this, unplug the opener from the wall outlet and then plug it back in. Once the opener is reset, test the door to see if it closes properly.
If the safety sensors, the limit switches, and the garage door opener are all working properly, then the problem may be with the door itself. The door may be damaged or there may be something blocking the door from closing. To check the door, first make sure that there is nothing blocking the door. If there is nothing blocking the door, then you can try opening and closing the door manually. If the door opens and closes manually, then the problem may be with the garage door opener. If the door does not open and close manually, then the door may be damaged and will need to be repaired or replaced.
