Liftmaster Garage Door Keypad Programming

Liftmaster garage door keypads provide a convenient and secure way to control access to your garage. Programming a Liftmaster keypad is a straightforward process that can be completed in a few minutes. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

Liftmaster garage door keypad
Phillips head screwdriver
Ladder (if necessary)

Step 2: Locate the Learn Button

The Learn button is typically located on the back or side of the motor unit. It is usually a small, red button.

Step 3: Open the Keypad

Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the keypad cover in place. Lift the cover off to expose the keypad circuitry.

Step 4: Press and Hold the Learn Button

Press and hold the Learn button for a few seconds until the LED light next to the button starts flashing. This indicates that the keypad is in programming mode.

Step 5: Enter the Master Code

Within 30 seconds of pressing the Learn button, enter the master code. The default master code is typically "1234".

Step 6: Enter the New User Code

After entering the master code, you can now enter the new user code. The new user code can be any 4-digit number.

Step 7: Press the Enter Button

Press the Enter button to save the new user code. The LED light will stop flashing and the keypad will return to normal operation.

Step 8: Test the Keypad

Enter the new user code into the keypad to test if it works properly. The garage door should open or close accordingly.

Additional Tips:

You can program up to 10 different user codes into a Liftmaster keypad.
To change the master code, press and hold the Learn button for 10 seconds. Enter the old master code, followed by the new master code.
If you forget your master code, you can reset the keypad to factory defaults by pressing and holding the Learn button for 30 seconds.
